Africa Dream Safaris,
I just had to let you know what a fantastic adventure we had on our Tanzania Safari. From the minute we landed in the Serengeti and saw a herd of giraffes feeding on the tops of acacia trees and a herd of thomson and grant gazelles grazing right next to the runway, not to mention observing the 'big five' in their natural habitat, until we drove back to Arusha 7 days later, it was one thrilling experience after another. We found several migration herds and encountered so many different animal species in their natural setting that I surely must have already forgotten some of them. The first day, we went on foot to view a very large hippo pool where we also encountered a small elephant herd feeding on the opposite riverbank. One of the elephants got a little too close so we had to rush back to the Land Rover, but we did get a great picture. We owe a big thank you to our guide Reginald who must have superb vision as he spotted so many animals for us while driving and thoroughly enjoyed what he was doing.
All the lodges were exceptional with each having a different character, but the Kusini Tented Lodge was my favorite despite having a ververt monkey steal my morning wake up biscuit. While Kusini Lodge is small and very comfortable, I experienced the true feeling of being in the bush, while still being spoiled by the many amenities. At the campfire and dinner, we also had a chance to meet some interesting people from other parts of the world. Of course the Crater Lodge was truly a unique experience in luxury as you had promised. My only regret is I didn't buy that Tsavorite garnet at Kusini as it was by far the best one I saw at that price. Thanks again for all your help in selecting the right places and assuring that we had an experience of a lifetime, although we hope to visit East Africa again in the not too distant future.
